Misión Viejo
Cliffs and coastline south of Rosarito

South of Rosarito · Baja California

The oceanfront, unhurried.

Misión Viejo is where Rosarito's coast turns quiet. Here is what it is, how it differs from staying downtown, and how to build a getaway around it.

The place

A gated oceanfront community, south of town.

Misión Viejo Sur is a condominium community in the Descanso Bay area, a drive south of downtown Rosarito, built around direct access to the beach.

Listings describe three six-story towers of one- to three-bedroom residences. Tower A sits right on the oceanfront and holds most of the amenities; Tower B is in the middle of the development; Tower C is near the gated entrance on the free road.

Descriptions come from broker and listing sites, which vary. Confirm details with the owner or broker before you rely on them.

Plan a getaway

What are you coming for?

Pick the occasion. The advice changes.

Two nights, no schedule.

  • Choose somewhere with a kitchen and a balcony, so breakfast and the sunset do not need a reservation.
  • Keep one dinner at a beachfront restaurant and one at home.
  • Walk the beach at low tide, and plan the sunset: the coast faces west over open water.

Where to stay

Two ways to sleep by the sea.

Neither is better. They are built for different trips.
